The Somerset West police have compiled accident reports following three separate collisions in the same vicinity over this past weekend.

The first incident occurred in De Beers Avenue on Friday (23 June) when motor vehicle and scooter collided at a traffic circle on the route.

According to Sergeant Suzan Jantjies, spokesperson for the Somerset West police, the collision occurred as a red Audi A1 allegedly exited the traffic circle and a scooter drove into the left side of the vehicle. “Luckily, no serious injuries were reported and an accident report was opened,” he said.

Police members were also called to an accident scene in Link Road around 11:00 the next day (Saturday 24 June).

Jantjies said the collision involved a silver Toyota Rav and blue Toyota Etios.

“According to the driver of the Rav he had to swerve to the right for a taxi that drove in front of him. This caused the Etios to drive into his vehicle. No serious injuries were reported at this accident.”

The accident was succeeded with another in the same road about 50 minutes later when a white Mercedes Benz was rear-ended by a gold-coloured Toyota Fortuner just before 12:00.

“The Mercedes Benz allegedly halted when a taxi stopped in front the vehicle, causing the Fortuner to ram into the back of the car,” Jantjies said.

“No serious injuries were reported.”
