EPWP workers cleaning all the canals in Helderberg’s Ward 85

Ward 85 Councillor Chantal Cerfontein announced funding was made available from the ward allocation to employ 100 Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) workers, whose main focus will be on cleaning all the canals in the ward. An induction was held on Wednesday 20 September with all the workers, the Green Jobs Team, and the contractor, the Contour Enviro Group. They all signed contracts, and teams of 20 with an appointed supervisor on each will focus on various pockets and stretches of the canals.
