A six-string extravaganza will be showcased at The Drama Factory in Strand, when acclaimed musician Mel Botes returns with an electrifying new show, Guitar Heroes, on Friday 31 May at 19:30.

After captivating audiences with critically acclaimed tributes such as Crazy Diamond – Pink Floyd and Sultans of Swing – Dire Straits for more than 30 years, he brings his unparalleled talent to a celebration of the guitar greats who have inspired him. Botes has mesmerised fans with his meticulous recreations, with both audiences and critics hailing his ability to capture the essence of these iconic bands, praising his pinpoint accuracy and the signature “Botes touch”.

Joined by a team of master musicians, Guitar Heroes also gives him the opportunity to showcase some of his original work together with a selection of the most successful rock guitarists of all time, including Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, JJ Cale, David Gilmour, Gary Moore, Mark Knopfler, Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison, Chris Rea, BB King and many more.

But Botes isn’t just paying homage. He seamlessly blends these classics with his own original work, creating a unique concert experience. Guitar Heroes is a must-see for music lovers of all generations and sees Botes share the stage with keyboard player Simon Orange of The Blues Broers’ fame and drummer Francois Kruger of Springbok Nude Girls.
