Helderberg High School donated boxes of books to the Pebbles Project on Thursday 1 April. The project is aimed at enriching the lives of disadvantaged children and families in agricultural communities of the Western Cape. The books will be used as part of the organisation’s reading project, where a mobile library transports books right to the doorstep of the children in need. Five matric learners of Helderberg High got together to sort out and package the donation as part of their ongoing outreach culture. At the handover (from left) are Joan de Leeuw (library coordinator for Pebbles Project) and Elmarie Venter (textbook co-ordinator for Helderberg High) with learners Cara Kriek, Lauren Hartman, Shakira Camara, Unakho Mpiko and Keanan Farr.
