Young adventurers embarked on an egg-citing hunt for Easter eggs in the exquisite surroundings of Vergelegen Wine Estate in Somerset West on Sunday 31 March.

With baskets in hand, and full of anticipation, they searched for sweet treasures hidden among the colourful shrubs, ancient trees and elegant statuary of the Octagonal Garden.

Parents and friends delighted in watching the little ones explore and engage with nature, while soaking up the serene atmosphere of the 324-year-old wine farm.

Vergelegen is open to the public daily, hours 08:30-17:00 (last entry at 16:00). The entrance fee is R20 per person, or R10 for pensioners and scholars. Pensioners enjoy free entry on Mondays.
