A suspect was arrested and drugs seized following a successful raid in Grabouw. According to a media statement officers attached to Public Order Police deployed in the Overberg followed-up a tip-off about drugs at premises in B155 Beverley Hills around 14:40 on Thursday 8 August. “The officers immediately operationalised the information,” it said, “and searched the premises, where they found 675 mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R33 750 and an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be the proceeds of crime.” A 43-year-old suspect was arrested for the possession of mandrax and detained at Grabouw Police Station free from any visible injuries. The suspect was expected to appear in the Grabouw Magistrates’ Court on Monday 12 August on the charges.
