As the halfway point of the year approaches, trail runners are invited to shake off the winter blues and enjoy a morning on the trails at the annual Mid-Year Trail Run at Muratie Wine Estate in Stellenbosch this Sunday (28 June).

Hosted by Dirtopia and presented by Sportsmans Warehouse, the event offers two routes: a 6 km and 11km route through the scenic Simonsberg landscape, featuring vineyard paths, forest singletrack and mountain views.

The Mid-Year Trail Run has become a favourite on the local trail running calendar since 2015, attracting both newcomers and experienced runners looking for a challenging yet rewarding outing. Participants can look forward to well-stocked refreshment stations, a finisher’s medal and lucky draw prizes. Fresh coffee and breakfast options will be available at the Dirtopia Trail Centre after the event, while Muratie’s Farm Kitchen will offer a spot to relax and enjoy the estate’s historic atmosphere.

Registration opens at 08:00, with the 6 km route starting at 09:00 and the 11 km route at 08:45.
