The under-13 boys’ soccer team of Curro Somerset West returned home victorious from the Saints Under-13 Football Tournament, hosted by St Andrew’s School in Bloemfontein during the Spring school holidays.

Held annually, the tournament is known for its competitive spirit, excellent organisation and emphasis on sportsmanship and development. This year’s edition featured a strong line-up of schools, including regional powerhouses and independent schools countrywide.

Teams competed in a series of matches over several days, showcasing emerging talent and fostering camaraderie among young athletes. The Curro Somerset West Jaguars lifted the trophy, showcasing exceptional skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the tour. Some players’ performances also won them individual honours, with Bukho Tatana winning both the Golden Boot and Attacker of the Tournament awards, Manyande Bandla being named the Defender of the Tournament and Kairav Makan winning the coveted Player of the Tournament award.
