Crimefighters, spiritual leaders united in prayer

Somerset West police officers and local spiritual leaders gathered for a special prayer session at the police station in Main Road on Thursday (9 November). Various speakers formed part of the session, in which participants engaged in prayer for the youth and businesses, and about crime in the area. Station commander Colonel Jacolize Fleischmann commended the pastors for standing with police in prayer, adding that “the current situation can be solved only when we reach out to God for help”. The prayer session was organised by the Somerset West Spiritual Crime Prevention committee members, who felt the need to engage in prayer. Dane Thomas, local pastor and chairperson of the committee, led those present in prayer and encouraged commitment to aiding police spiritually in their fight against crime.
