The Hawks’ National Priority Violent Crime (NPVC) is requesting the assistance of the public in tracing the whereabouts of a suspect depicted in the screenshot. He was involved in a failed cash-in-transit robbery that occurred at Sir Lowry’s Diesel Depot in Lwandle on Friday 25 October last year. DistrictMail & Helderberg Gazettereported on the incident, involving armed suspects who pounced on the business located in the Broadlands industrial area, where a shoot-out with security personnel ensued. It resulted in one guard being injured and the suspects fleeing without taking money (“Robbery foiled, 3 sought by police,” 30 October 2024). “The cash vehicle went to collect money when it was allegedly attacked by armed suspects,” the media statement said. “As the crewman came out of the office after collecting cash, two unknown suspects, one carrying a rifle and the other carrying a pistol, fired shots at him. As the security guards returned fire, one of them was shot in the right shoulder and survived.
