Match day 13 or 14 is upon us this weekend, with Helderberg and Raithby Universals already have completed their regular seasons.

Congratulations to Berge for remaining unbeaten and winning Super League B. They now have to wait for their semi-final opponents to be finalised as promotion to Super League A is 80 minutes away.

RU currently find themselves in 12th place in Super League C and need to hope that the clubs in position 13 to 15 lose all their remaining outings for them not avoid relegation. Let’s look at this week’s fixtures:

)
Macassar vs Blue Jets – Khayelitsha

The MC Boys overcame a tough derby at The Kraal to keep their semi-final hopes alive. Winning lowly Jets and another result going their way, could see them sneak in. Macassar are a well-drilled machine and should take the points on the road.

)
Strand vs Rangers – Gustrouw

This is a tricky prospect for Strand, but Rangers’ inconsistency could haunt them later. Strand’s forwards should compete well with a robust Rangers’ pack, but it’s out wide that the hosts will dominate. On current form Strand should easily take this one.

)
Strand United vs Eerste River – Kleinvlei

United find themselves in a precarious bottom-of-the-log situation. They still have their fate in their own hands, but face two difficult opponents, starting with Rivas this week. Rivas are a fast-paced, exciting team and are ruthless at home. United will have to be at their absolute best.

)
All Saints vs Young Peoples – Helderzicht

Saints got a perfectly timed week off to regroup for this important match. The hosts have had an awesome season and one win away from securing the ultimate goal of a home quarter-final. Peoples could feel they have a realistic chance, but I doubt it.

)
St George’s vs Primroses – Rosmead

The Lulus are facing an ever improving Primroses. Lately, the hosts have picked up valuable points after a slow start, but now face a rampant St George’s. I think this match will be a cracker of a match-up. I’d, however, bet on a slicker Lulus for the win.

)
Gordon’s Bay Pioneers vs Peninsula – Muizenberg

GBP are realising the slightly higher tempo of regional teams cannot be underestimated. Two wins from three and a trip to unbeaten Pennies will test their depth. A win on Saturday could set up yet another quarter-final for the season.
