Internationally and locally acclaimed artist Jaret Loggenberg will showcase her first solo exhibition in South Africa, Gratitude, at Avontuur Estate in Somerset West from Thursday 30 March to Sunday 2 April.
The show, which explores the feminine form through a collection of oil paintings, highlights both the vulnerability and strength intrinsic to women and serves as a reminder for self-love and respect.
Drawing inspiration from photographs, Loggenberg uses warm natural colours and bold brushstrokes to capture the powerful nature of women. The exhibition includes female portraits as the main focus as well as nude studies that showcase the ephemeral quality of women’s lives through emotive facial expressions and figures.
It is a celebration of recent delightful events in Loggenberg’s personal and professional life, including her recent marriage and participation in mostly sold-out exhibitions in Germany, Austria and Spain last year.
“This collection is very close to my heart, and my main aim is to inspire the viewer and sow seeds of hope, love, and kindness,” she says. “God made us all unique with different talents and gifts, and I hope my work will remind viewers that they are special and that they can make a personal connection with an artwork that speaks to them.”
This exhibition serves as a testament to the artist’s resolution to live life fully and is a celebration of her accomplishments and blessings.
Locals are welcome to attend the opening of Gratitude on Thursday 30 March at 11:00. Afterwards the exhibition will be open for the public’s viewing delight from 11:00 until 18:00 daily.
