The SA Radio Awards is here! This prestigious event honours and recognises exceptional innovative excellence in the South African radio industry, and HelderbergFM (HFM) is a force to be reckoned with. The local radio station is not only known for its outstanding delivery on high-quality content to their listeners, but also its dedication and commitment to supporting the entire community.

Nominated in three categories this year, HFM is leaving an indelible mark on the industry. The first nomination goes to the captivating day-time show, In the Zone, with the talented and charismatic host Vanessa Bourne who is also the station’s Head of Programming.

HFM’s second nomination comes from their sensational music show, HFM Top 30 hosted by none other than Lindi Erasmus. This dynamic show takes listeners on a musical journey like no other, showcasing the best hits and undiscovered gems from various genres. And let us not forget about our favourite “Old School” show hosted by Hanle Barnard, where nostalgia meets great music. These music shows have garnered attention and admiration from their listeners, bringing everyone together to join in on an amazing musical journey.

In addition to their exceptional programming, HFM has made a difference in the community through the “Silver Hair is Solid Gold” campaign, a collaboration between the radio station and Strand Neighbourhood Watch, which had set a target to spoil 900 seniors with individual care packages of toiletry items and a knee blanket. The total value of the donations was equivalent to R270 000. This heart-warming initiative showcased its dedication to uplifting and supporting the senior citizens within the community. The recognition of this campaign by receiving a nomination serves as a validation that its efforts made a positive impact on those around them.

HFM’s previous recognition at the SA Radio Awards reinforces its position as a leading community radio station in the country. The station has received accolades in the past for its outstanding contributions to the industry and its commitment to delivering exceptional programming. With these latest nominations the radio once again cements its reputation as a source of excellent content, dedicated to entertaining and informing its loyal listeners.

So let us join in celebrating HelderbergFM for its outstanding achievements at this year’s SA Radio Awards. These nominations are a testament to their dedication and passion for their craft. The station extends its gratitude to the SA Radio Awards for acknowledging its hard work. Results will be announced at the gala awards evening on Saturday 2 December.
