The Methodist Home for the Aged, Sencit Resthaven in Strand, hosted around 100 residents and family members for a special celebratory lunch and social afternoon in honour of Grandparents Sunday on 4 October.

Held as part of Older Persons Week, the event – now in its second year – aims to foster deeper family connections with elderly relatives, bringing the same dedicated appreciation to grandparents as Mother’s and Father’s Day.

The afternoon was supported by sponsorships and contributions from Pick n Pay, Spur and participating families.
