Strand Cricket Club recently held an awards ceremony to celebrate and acknowledge all the individuals who came together to mark a successful season.
The club started proceedings by thanking all sponsors who continue to support the team.
Guest speaker, Professor Wilbur Kraak then addressed the visitors with words of motivation before awards were handed out to the following:
Women’s awards: Riezqa Brinkhuis – Highest average and Highest individual score; Nielfah Bazier – Best bowling average and Best bowling in a match; and Sherazaan Damans – Best fielder.
Men’s 2nd team awards: Benverizzo Venter – Highest average and Highest individual score; Leathan Savory – Best bowling average; Vernon Swartland – Best bowling in a match; and Bevenito Willemse – Best fielder.
Men’s 1st team awards: Highest average – Winston Isaacs;
Highest individual score – Sharwaan Naidoo; Best bowling average – Yasin January; Best bowler in a match – Zunaid Siljeur; and Best fielder – Winston Isaacs.
