Masikhule’s Cast-on 4 Kids on Mandela Day (Tuesday 18 July) was a huge success! Sandy Immelman of Masikhule said: “We are immensely grateful for the support we received from the community. Large quantities of beautifully handcrafted beanies and blankets were donated, along with knitted dolls, crocheted bears, fleece blankets and handmade quilts. Masikhule would like to thank everyone who participated and donated. The warm goodies have been distributed to nearly 30 early-childhood development centres in our marginalised communities – hundreds upon hundreds of little children are thrilled to bits with their gifts of love – especially in this icy weather! Thank you for caring and sharing – we look forward to this event every year as it fills so many hearts with warmth.” Photo: Shijham Majiedt (Masikhule)
