Local students have just days left to apply for bursaries available by the City of Cape Town’s training and development department. The application window closes this Friday (10 October).
The department is offering comprehensive financial assistance to Cape Town students enrolled at accredited South African academic institutions, including TVET Colleges. The bursaries cover full registration, tuition and examination fees. Plus, they include capped allowances for study materials, transport and meals.
“The City is always on the lookout for new talent and I am pleased to extend an invitation to all Cape Town-based candidates. These are candidates who are currently studying at a tertiary institution or who have been accepted at one. Apply now! Bursary applications will be assessed on academic merit. They will also be assessed against the City’s scarce skills list of needs. The bursaries come with a year-for-a-year service obligation period. This will ensure graduates also gain hands-on work experience once they have graduated,” said Alderman Theresa Uys, the City’s Mayco member for corporate services.
Candidates are invited to download the application online (https://www.capetown.gov.za/City-Connect/Apply/Jobs-and-opportunities/apply-for-a-city-bursary).
