The search is on for the country’s top two hospitalians – a newly coined word to describe workers in the hospitality industry. If you’re looking to enter this industry this competition is just for you!

The Private Hotel School, which has a campus in Stellenbosch and Johannesburg, has launched a competition, My Global Career, to find two hospitalians, with the prize being a year-long bursary for each to study for a certificate in Hospitality Management at either campus.

The competition closes on Thursday 10 December, with the draw for the winners taking place on Saturday 30 January. Winners of the bursaries will commence with their studies next March.

To enter, you must upload any of the following onto Instagram: A photo of yourself in front of a tourist site, hotel, resort or landmark where you would love to work one day. You can submit a photo of the actual experience or edit yourself into the image. If these two options are not possible, you can submit a photo of the site on its own.

When posting, use the hashtag #MyGlobalCareer and tag @privatehotelschool, along with a paragraph of not more than 30 words on why you would like to work in hospitality or why you want to study at The Private Hotel School.

Ten finalists will be invited to either campus for the lucky draw, with one finalist per campus winning a bursary to study next year. In addition, all 10 finalists will win a hospitality experience, which may be a high tea, a dinner for four, a weekend getaway or a mid-week break to a resort.
