A call for donations of smart devices for Grade 12 learners of Nomzamo High School to continue learning in lockdown was headed by two specialists of Cure Day Hospital in Paardevlei. The call forms part of the SSCC Support Hubs initiative, launched by the Strong Schools Community Collaborative in June. The doctors donated two tablets to aid the matrics with e-learning, giving them a greater chance of passing their final exams. A third tablet was also bought with funds donated by two other sponsors. At the handover, the hospital staff treated the learners with lovely refreshments and committed to emotionally support them on their journey through matric. At the handover (from left) were Marlene Oosthuizen (clinic marketing manager), Chris Mgubantu (principal), Sihle Nokrayo, Nande Tsembeyi, Ntabiseng Tsukulu and Tossie Roux (clinic manager). The matric class of Nomzamo High have now received seven of the 52 tablets or smart phones needed for them to continue their online learning.
