A construction worker, who was part of a crew working on renovations at KFC in Beach Road, Strand, was found dead in the fast-food outlet last Wednesday (16 March).
Warrant Officer Nico Beukes, spokesperson for Strand police, confirmed that Alvin Keven Stuurman entered the fast-food outlet to start his shift at 08:20. Beukes confirmed that Stuurman’s body was discovered when a different crew arrived for their shift at 15:00. “Upon arrival, they found Stuurman’s body. No foul play is suspected, and an inquest docket has been opened,” said Beukes.
The company that Stuurman worked for declined to comment on the incident. The family also asked for their privacy and decided to reserve any comments about Stuurman.
