Winner in the under-19 development category at the Youth Day race, Liyema Lomboza, of Blue Sky Cycling Academy.

Cyclists of Blue Sky Cycling Academy participated at the Youth Cycling Festival organised by the Western Province Cycling Association held at Killarney on Sunday 16 June.

The Nomzamo-based academy expressed pride at the excellent results of two of its members in the under-19 development category – Liyema Lomboza, who clinched first place, and John George, who finished not far behind, in third place. It was a special achievement for George, who rode in memory of his father, who died earlier this year.

Kennith Stone, board member of Blue Sky Cycling Academy, was overjoyed with the results not only of the two top performers, but all the riders of the academy who participated.

“I would like to extend a word of thanks to WP Cycling and all organisers for the opportunity to participate in this event. We are also very grateful for the sponsorships from Winelands Cycling Club and Kim van Lith. The board of Blue Sky academy is proud of these boys and achievements. Thanks to all for making a difference in the lives of these youth,” he said.
