Halfway Bricks, in association with Hi-Tec SA, had a very successful beach clean-up on the Saturday 20 July to celebrate Mandela Day. Hendrik Louw Primary School joined in the fun, and its learners and staff did a fantastic job, going that extra mile for the environment. Jacques Theron was the winner of the Spur meal voucher for picking up the most rubbish on the day. The organisers were so impressed by this young man that they decided to give him a pair of new school shoes as well.Kara Strydom (Somerset Private School) and Zoey Strydom (Hendrik Louw) were the raffle salespeople on the day. “A special thanks go to Marla of Show Me Helderberg and Helderberg Beach Clean-up for the support and Tallahassee Spur Somerset Mall for sponsoring the meal vouchers,” said Karen Strydom of Halfway Bricks. “We would also like to thank all the learners who participated and woke up early on a Saturday morning to come and help make a difference. We are proud of every one of them.” Foto:
