Patrcik O’Brien and Ghayna Torii, who participated at the IFBB Speed Fit Challenge last month and finished with outstanding results (“Podium spots for fitness trio”, DistrictMail & Helderberg Gazette, 14 August), have been selected for the Speed Fit International Championships due to be held in Spain this September. The two athletes have each started a Back-a-Buddy campaign to raise the funds needed to make the trip. The Speedfit challenge is a high-intensity crucible that demands competitors execute six demanding exercises within a heart-pounding two minutes. It’s a test not just of physical prowess but also mental fortitude.
