Avid golfers on the winning team are Pieter Loubser, Julian Weil and Andre Hagé.

The 2023 Helderberg Hospice Golf Day took place at the Somerset West Golf Club on Spring Day (Friday 1 September).

The 26 teams of enthusiastic supporters of Helderberg Hospice teed off in perfect golfing weather conditions.

The organisation extends a grateful thanks to the many very generous gift sponsors who donated wonderful prizes not only for the top-ranking teams, but for each and every player whose participation supported the palliative care services of Helderberg Hospice.

The players who left before the end of the prize-giving evening can collect their prizes from Helderberg Hospice at 21 Old Stellenbosch Road in Somerset West, or call Celèstine on 076 062 5855.

Hole sponsors added fun and excitement to the day, and extra enjoyment was had on Hole 9, where principal sponsor Hyundai Somerset West offered free entry into a Hole-in-One competition with R50 000 up for grabs. Sadly, there were no winners on the day.

“Thank you to every player, prize donor, sponsor and participant for a wonderful day of golfing fun,” stated a media release.

“The real winner of the Helderberg Hospice Golf Day was the Helderberg community itself. “The generous support of the golf day, and other fundraising events, allows Helderberg Hospice to serve the community with professional palliative care at the most vulnerable.”

For more information, and participation in next year’s golf day, call Celéstine on 076 062 5855; or Helderberg Hospice on 021 852 4608. Alternatively, visit www.helderberghospice.org.za.
