The Disa 95,9 FM Sports Day and Thanksgiving event was held at Kathleen Murray Primary school.


Disa 95,9 FM hosted an exhilarating sports day and thanksgiving event at Kathleen Murray Primary School in Grabouw on Saturday 1 June.

The event brought athletes of all ages, car enthusiasts and food lovers together. The sun-drenched day was filled with excitement, camaraderie and generous sponsorships.

From the youngest tots to spirited senior citizens, participants showcased their athletic prowess in track events, relays, and field competitions which kept the crowd cheering. The overall winner was Rudolph de Beer who walked away with the trophy and a few medals

A potjiekos cook-off proved a culinary showdown and winners received R500 and a coveted trophy, and runners-up R250.

Elso Cars from Strand and Rola Motors from Somerset West wowed those present with an impressive display of vehicles comprising classic cars, sleek sports cars and family-friendly models.

Those in attendance eagerly participated in lucky draws with exciting prizes up for grabs and a dedicated kid zone area kept children entertained throughout the day with face painting, games, and laughter echoed across the school grounds.

The bustling grounds of Kathleen Murray Primary were abuzz with lively stalls adding flavour and variety to the day.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to: Elso Cars and Rola Motors for their unwavering support, our dedicated volunteers, staff and participants for the day’s resounding success,” said Elzette Essau, programme manager at Disa 95.9 FM.
