The Kay Mason Foundation has put out a call for applications for their high school scholarship programme.
This opportunity is for promising Grade 6 learners who start high school in 2021. Applications close on Wednesday 31 July at 15:00.
The foundation assists children who have the potential to become future leaders, but need financial support – families with a monthly household income under R15 000. Each child’s aptitude, attitude, behaviour and home circumstances are assessed and, where necessary, assistance includes funding of school fees as well as transport costs, school uniforms, sports equipment, textbooks, stationery, school lunches and extramural activities.
Adjusting to a new environment can be challenging for these youths, so the foundation also offers ongoing academic tutor and psycho-social support. A team of mentors walk the journey alongside each child.
Alumni of the foundation have gone on to become actuaries, doctors, musicians, sportsmen and community leaders. They have a proud history of 20 years and a 99% matric pass rate.
