Congratulations to All Saints RFC for again picking up five log points against Langa, in what certainly can be described as their best season in Super League B (SLB) since they gained promotion some years ago.

Helderberg RFC have another bye weekend and are comfortably leading SLB, so well done to them!

Another derby match and more huge crowds are expected in the Helderberg this weekend.

) St George’s vs Belhar (Belhar)

The Lulu Boys, who eventually got the opportunity to celebrate their 80th birthday with a dance last week, will have to waltz around a tricky fixture against a determined Belhar outfit.

Coming off a two-week break can have its advantages, as the players get the chance to recover from niggling injuries. The Lulus’ recent form has been pleasing and they will feel they have what it takes to catch up with the league front-runners.

St George’s will match Belhar in all facets of play. The host’s forwards are overrated and sluggish, and a well-drilled St George’s pack should dominate.

We are at the point in the season where clubs are doing each other “favours”, and a win for St George’s will be good for themselves, Helderberg and All Saints.

) Raithby Universals vs Macassar (Raithby)

Super League C is very topsy-turvy and, historically, this has always been an evenly matched derby.

The odds are stacked against RU, after what has been a disappointing season so far. Macassar, on the other hand, have all to play for after their loss to Strand RFC two weeks ago. They have their fate of ending first or second in their own hands.

It won’t be too ambitious of the MC Boys to confidently pencil in five log points.

) Strand United vs Rangers (Surrey Estate)

United again fell in their old habit of not producing the same quality play for two consecutive weeks. After thrashing Pniel Villagers one week, they were disappointing against Morning Stars last week.

Unfortunately, that’s what you get with an inexperienced squad. Taking that into account, going to Surrey Estate may end up being a disaster for player morale.

The hosts are ruthless at home and have had a great start to the season. United will have to lift themselves and not stand back.

) Strand vs Kylemore (Gustrouw)

Strand are top of the log and unbeaten, scoring an average of 40 points per match. But if the hosts thought this was going to be an easy match, they will be mistaken.

Kylemore beat United in Strand and followed it up with a great win over CPUT last week. I believe the visitors can match Strand out wide, so this will be an interesting fixture.
