Parents, children and staff of the two Kids Company Preschool branches in Somerset West and Stellenbosch gathered at Helderberg Nature Reserve for a Mad Hatter’s picnic party on Saturday 6 April.
The children had an exciting walk along the pre-plotted trail, collecting stickers and sweet treats. The principals of each respective school chose a charity and the children brought one of their own special toys to donate to the charities.
The toys were divided and half of the toys went to the Morkel’s Cottage Crèche and Lofland Dagsorg in Strand, and the other half were donated to the children from Sonstraal Kleuterskool in Jamestown.
The children and staff are pleased to be able to contribute in this way and they are looking forward to the next drive.
In the meantime the schools will continue to teach and train the children, to care, as they continue to do what they do best, teach with heart.
