That is the basis on which Friedman and Cohen, the Helderberg’s favourite retail store, will continue to build and grow its business this year, getting its clients the best deals at great value.
“Last year was a difficult year for the man on the street. Customers are looking for better prices (in 2017). Looking forward, we want to offer our customers better value and prices,” said director Grant Goodwin.
One way they aim to achieve this is by sourcing more home-branded goods, predominantly in the fashion and homeware departments.
“We want to offer our customers prices that are significantly lower than the traditional premium brands. It is clear customers want lower prices,” he added.
Goodwin says DistrictMail customers can look forward to “the personalised excellent service they expect”.
They can also look forward to even better value this year.
”Our teams are working (even) harder to source goods at better prices,” says Goodwin.
“We are working hard with suppliers to find the prices customers are looking for.”
Customers can expect even more great deals on promotion, starting with Valentine’s Day.
In May/June, the store celebrates Mother’s and Father’s Day with promotions on fragrances, gifting and the outdoors.
Another important date on the promotions calendar is the traditional big Winter Sale. In October, Friedman and Cohen celebrates its birthday with fun events and special deals in all departments, and then it’s on to pre-Christmas deals. “There will be fantastic offers for customers,” Goodwin promised.
Speaking on the online platform www.fancystore.co.za, Goodwin said they want to create an even better browsing experience. “We are consistently looking to improving that offering.”
The online site showed an outstanding growth, since its launch about 18 months ago.
“We are very excited about the uptake,” the director said. “It showed phenomenal growth and we received great feedback, especially on the ease of use and simplicity of the online portal.”
