Helderberg High School hosted a wonderful day of athletics on Friday 8 March.
The day started off with a 2 km fun walk.
The two school teams, Bergies and Helder, chased one another on the scoreboard, with Bergies running off with the crown.
Speed walking was a first time event and brought new excitement with a teachers’ team competing in a relay against the learners.
Berenice Sauls, life science teacher, just had the perfect rhythm in the last lap and ensured a win for the teachers’ team.
Learners were extremely enthusiastic when a sprint was arranged during break time, to see who is the fastest male learner ar Helderberg High School. Congratulations to Tyler Tawson on winning the 100m sprint.
