The Gloria Botha School for intellectually challenged children in Somerset West is hosting a golf day at Strand Golf Club on Friday 20 September.

Funds raised through the event will be used for enclosing one of the school’s play areas for activities such as dancing and computer lessons.

The school accommodates learners with down syndrome and other learning disabilities, and are reliant on the community’s involvement to bolster its regular fundraising events.

To take part in the golf day or help the school, individuals and organisations can buy or sponsor a four-ball at R2 000 per team, sponsor a green or tee at R1 000, sponsor one of the special holes at R1 000 (the longest drive, nearest to the pin, short hole), sponsor any vouchers or prizes or make cash donations.

All donations are deductable from income tax, as the school is authorised to issue Article 18A certificates.

For more information or to get involved in the golf day, phone 021 851 2156 or send an email to gloriabothaskool@gmail.com.
