Parel Vallei High School honoured its top sportspeople at its annual Sports Awards on Tuesday 17 September. Zanele Mdodana, former South African netball captain and player, was guest speaker at the event. The prize winners (behind, from left) are Marietjie Cilliers (Best Cross-country Athlete and Junior Sportswoman of the Year), Marian van Wyk (Girls’ Squash Player of the Year), Jan Rademan (Cricketer of the Year), Samuel Nolte (Golfer of the Year), Ivan Coetsee (Senior Sportsman of the Year), Jarryd Konkol (Swimmer of the Year), Wicus Diedericks (Boys’ Hockey Player of the Year), Willem Knoesen (Tennis Player of the Year), Joel Lee (Chess Player of the Year) and Jayden Daniels (Junior Sportsman of the Year).
