Anila von Vollenstein placed second in the grade, achieving distinctions in Afrikaans first additional language, mathematical literacy and life orientation. Principal Herman Janse van Rensburg further congratulated her on her improvement of more than 10% for English home language, computer applications technology (CAT) and tourism.


False Bay High School held a special prize giving in celebration of the hard work and determination of its 2020 matric class on Tuesday 30 March.

Common themes were the impact of change and teachers’ and learners’ confidence in expanded possibilities, which grew throughout the pandemic affected year. The ceremony enabled the school to pause, recognise and celebrate learners’ success and development.

Bennie Louw was not able to attend the event, but was acknowledged and congratulated as the impressionable top learner for False Bay High in his absence. Milly Mapling, who also was also absent from the event, ended the year as the third best learner in the grade and achieved distinctions for Afrikaans first additional language and life orientation. She also improved her life sciences mark by more than 10%.
