Benjamin Kleyn (Grade 11, left) and Tian Groenewald (Grade 12) from Parel Vallei High School have been selected to represent Western Province in the final of the Olympiad of the Institution of Information Technology Professionals South Africa (IITPSA), which will be held at the University of Cape Town on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 October. The olympiad sets an annual programming challenge for IT learners across the country, with more than 1 300 learners from 114 schools participating in the first round, where they had to solve a number of problems using their programming language of choice. From the 471 learners who made it through to the second round, only 19 will now participate in the final.
