Somerset College’s Cambridge AS and AL students again delivered excellent results in the 2021 Cambridge examination, which were completed in October/November last year.

“The examinations were the culmination of a very difficult year with Covid-19 restrictions and some online learning,” a statement from the school read. “These results are a testament to the commitment of our students and staff.

“We thank all our Cambridge teachers for their efforts and dedication to preparing our students as well as they did in the trying times. We are also very grateful to our parents for their support and their children and the school.”

In the AL cohort, 94% of subject entries resulted in a B symbol or higher.

The following A-Level students achieved excellent results: Joshua Bloom, Hannah Bowker, Noa Brawermann, Mieka Enthoven, Joshua Grobler, Nell Hauptfleisch, Tiana Husselmann, Hannah-Simone Lubbe and Liam Watson.

At AS Level, the following students achieved four or more distinctions from five subjects: Kairo Naidoo, Teagan Seward-Case, Marwin Hodel, Matt Roux, Melissa Heine, William McDonald and Ellen Jones.

A total of 42% of the subject entries resulted in a distinction, with 73% of subject entries scoring a B or higher.
