Milano Hendricks (11) of Somerset West Methodist Primary School broke a school record when he scored a century against Somerset House last week. It was the first game for the under-11s this year, and Hendricks said playing cricket for the Helderberg Hub helped him keep focused last year when almost no cricket was played at school. He scored 113 before he was caught behind. Hendricks was awarded a plaque during assembly at school for his achievement by his coach, Clyde Visser. The young all-rounder said he looked up to Proteas Quinton de Kock and Kagiso Rabada, who he emulated during play. “He has a bright future and we’re privileged to serve in a supporting and nurturing role,” said Visser.Photo: Yaseen Gaffar
