Lwandle police have opened a case of murder after a 46-year-old woman was shot and killed in Lwandle last Wednesday (16 March).

Police say the woman had just parked her car when three suspects opened fire, fatally wounding the victim.

The shooting incident occurred at about 19:30 on Wednesday.

Lwandle spokesperson Sergeant Mthokozisi Gama said: “It is alleged that the deceased had just arrived and parked her vehicle at home when unknown gunmen fired several shots at her. She died immediately, on the scene.”

Police request anyone with information that can aid the investigation, to phone ivestigating officer, Sergeant Bongekile Ntsontso on 082 411 2735 or 021 845 2060. Alternatively, call the South African Police Service Crime Stop line (08600 10111). Anonymous tip-offs can also be communicated via the MySAPS App on your smart phone.
