Lwandle detectives launched a manhunt for a murder suspect who shot and killed a 42-year-old Khayelitsha man in Lwandle on Thursday 25 August.
Police responded to the incident, which occurred near the barbecue stands opposite the Lwandle Hostel in Vulindlela Road.
The victim was with his three friends when an unknown suspect shot him multiple times in the head and upper body. He succumbed to his wounds on the scene. A 39-year-old female bystander was wounded in the leg in the shooting. She was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Information collected on the scene confirmed the gunman shot only the deceased and not any of his friends.
Circumstances around the case are still under investigation by the Lwandle police detectives. The motive for the killing is yet to be established.
