Mom-and-daughter duos descended on Somerset West Primary School’s A field dressed to the nines for a fun-filled morning picnic dedicated solely strengthening the unique bond shared between the inseparable pairs on Saturday 26 November.

The event attracted beautiful moms donning noteworthy ensembles that matched the outfits of their little mini versions, and they had a ball of a time. Girl learners enjoyed picnicking with mom while reuniting with friends, jumping for joy on the bouncy castle, having their faces painted (some even twisting mom’s arm to queue for her matching artwork) and quick scavenger hunt that kicked off the morning event on arrival. Before all the picnic fun winded down, mom-and-daughter pairs were called together for the top four of the Best Dressed duos to be announced and awarded.

Clinching first place were Pamela Chiteka and daughter Tiana Mubariki, who were pretty in pink with their bunny-inspired top hats, matching T-shirts with bows, jibbitz-adorned Crocs and fashion shades.

Hot on the winners’ fashionable heels were mamma Jenelle Barron and intombi Courtney Barron, whose traditional and cultural African wear turned heads. Great minds clearly think alike as Akhile and Eliana Mayoli also came dressed in striking African-inspired skirts and headbands, a style choice that earned the pair third place.

Fourth place went to Kavanique and Tashadine Gamaldien, who stunned in their matching cherry-print top and pants with large sun hats as the cherry on top!
