Somerset West: The Southey’s Car Boot (Southey’s Thrift & Second-hand Market) returns to Southey’s Vines at 186 Main Road from 08:30 to 14:00. Somerset West: The Friends of the Helderberg Nature Reserve often offer interpretive walks for which a small fee is charged. The walks are conducted by experienced and knowledgeable guides Andreas Groenewald (day/night walks) and Charles Britz (bird walks). A bird walk takes place at 06:30 this morning (Saturday) and all participants are requested to meet at the reserve gate. A full-moon sunset supper walk also takes place from the Visitor Centre at 18:30. The events are succeeded by another interpretive day walk to Disa Kloof on Sunday 29 January. This walk goes up the gorge, so interested individuals are implored to take a picnic with brunch or lunch and meet-up at the Visitor Centre at 08:00. Bookings are essential. Somerset West: Grieving the death of a child? The Compassionate Friends, assisting families following the death of a child or sibling, meets in the chapel of the Helderberg Dutch Reformed church in Firmount Road at 18:00. Somerset West: The South African Depression and Anxiety Group’s (Sadag) local support group for people living with depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder meets every Monday, alternatively in person (at the Coronation Avenue Methodist church at 18:00) and online.
