Taking place today (Sunday 12 March), the Absa Run Your City Series’ third Strava Challenge encourages runners to Run For A Cause between the hours of 05:00 – 23:00.
“We are excited to give the Absa Run Your City Series community the opportunity to turn their miles into smiles while doing what they love, running,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and founder of the Absa Run Your City Series.
“Supporting charities has been an important factor of the Absa Run Your City Series since the inception of the first event, the Absa Run Your City Cape Town 10K in 2015. In 2023, the series will expand with five mass participation road running events being hosted across five major cities, Gqeberha, Cape Town, Durban, Tshwane and Johannesburg. Each of the five events will support between three and five local charities,” says Meyer.
“We would like to encourage the Absa Run Your City Series community to please support the event charities when taking on the Run For A Cause Challenge on Strava. These charities welcome any form of support, be it monetary, product donations or time offered. The challenge will take place between 05:00 – 23:00 on Sunday 12 March. Runners can choose their own distance, location and route. Remember to capture and share your activities, routes, photos and selected cause/charity to the Run Your City Series Club Page on Strava. Don’t forget to include #RunYourCity #RunForACause #FueledbyNITRO. Have fun making your run count. A pair of magnificent Puma Nitro running shoes is up for grabs.”
