The Westridge and Somerset Ridge Neighbourhood Watch (WNW) hosted a social bring-and-braai for watch members on the field located along Keurboom Avenue in the suburb on Saturday 25 February. While socialising over good food and company was the order of the day, the get-together provided the ideal opportunity rally potential new members to join the ranks of the neighbourhood watch, which serves as the residential area’s eyes and ears walking or driving the beat and aids local police in the fight against crime for a safer community. Vigilance and visibility are the main contributors to the watch’s success, and individuals interested in joining as a member can contact Pierre Ackermann (WNW coordinator) on 083 292 2146.
