Sahara is searching for a loving home.

PetPals is calling on the community to help find a loving forever home for Sahara, a beautiful and friendly feline available for adoption.

The non-profit organisation dedicated to animal welfare had the four-legged furry friend sterilised about three months ago, but when she was returned her owner decided she did not want her anymore.

“We were lost for words and immediately took Sahara back to Strand Animal Hospital, where she spent the night,” the sanctuary said in a statement. “The cat was so devoted to her family, one that had sadly given her away without blinking an eye or even a second thought.”

Mariann Wilson from Pine Lodge Cattery in Sir Lowry’s Pass kindly offered to foster Sahara, and she has been there ever since.

“Sahara, as we named her, is a sweet and gentle cat, pretty laid-back and enjoys being pampered and stroked,” said PetPals. “She will do well in a calm environment on her own or with a feline companion, and she enjoys being among other cats. She loves spending time in a garden, so we would like her to have a secure property and garden,” It added Sahara had tested negative for feline Aids/leukaemia, was fully vaccinated, treated for fleas, dewormed, microchipped and sterilised.

The shelter also pointed out it was important to bear in mind Sahara would need to be kept indoors for at least two to three weeks before being allowed to venture outside.

PetPals has an application form to be completed before adoption and an adoption fee of R500 to contribute to her vet expenses. Home checks will apply.
