Young Bafana’s home ground, the Arena at 2 Prima Drive in Broadlands, played host to a number of junior matches on Saturday 13 May
First up was the u-11 development squad who acquitted themselves very well in defeating Ubuntu West Coast by 2 goals to 1.
They were followed by the u-12 squad who came back from being 1-0 down to run out 2-1 victors. The match produced quality football from both sides and was evenly balanced with neither side dominating the other.
The u-14 match was dominated by Young Bafana in all the phases and they ran out 3-0 victors thanks to a fine hat–trick from star midfielder Sam Muyengwa.
Ubuntu West Coast had no answer to the superior ball possession game produced by Young Bafana and were on the defensive for most of the game.
The u-16 match was evenly contested and the visitors took an early lead. Young Bafana fought back strongly to equalise and then went in front to hold on for a well-deserved 2-1 victory.
In the u-18 clash, Young Bafana pulled off a memorable win by defeating their much fancied highly rated opponents, Cape Town City by 3-0.
This was a fine victory from a team showing more and more what they are capable of.
The hero of the day was speedy winger Siyolise (Wayne) Kutwana with a brilliant hat-trick to put his team in full control.
