Strand police are investigating a case of robbery after a pedestrian was robbed of his cellphone in Broadway Bolulevard on Thursday 27 July.
According to Strand police spokesperson Warrant Officer Nico Beukes, the victim was walking and talking on his cellphone when he was targeted by two suspects, a man and woman. “The female suspect grabbed the victim’s Samsung S20 cellphone out of his hand,” he said. “When the victim tried to take it back from her the male suspect pointed a firearm at him.” Both suspects fled the scene.
The victim survived the alleged incident unscathed and no shots were fired.
