The Outreach Programme (Top) hosted a fundraising Valentine’s Day Market and Adoption Day at the Round Table Hall in Somerset West on Sunday (11 February). The animal welfare organisation is calling on the community for much-needed support to continue their life-saving work. “We are reaching out with hearts heavy but hopeful, as we face a critical situation at Top. As passionate advocates for animal welfare we have been tirelessly working to educate, rescue, sterilise and repeat in the Helderberg’s township areas. However, our mission has hit a roadblock: our funds are depleted and we urgently need your support,” stated a plea shared on social media. “Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable animals and communities. Your generosity can help us keep our promise to rescue, care for and protect those who cannot speak for themselves.” For information, or to adopt a four-legged family member, swing by the Round Table Hall where adoption days are held every last Sunday of the month. Five-year-old Layla loving on a small kitten which is one of many in need of a home. The preschooler loves animals and wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up because, “I want to help animals and make them feel better.” According to her guardian, Roxanne De Coito who is an avid foster mom to furry friends, Layla is much like her, “We mommy everything and anything”.
