Ace swimmers Simoné Gerber and James Wing, both in Grade 8 at Curro Somerset West, were selected to represent Western Province in the South African Schools Sport Championships. The event was hosted by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture in partnership with the Department of Basic Education and held in Gqeberha over the weekend of 19 to 21 April. Simoné clinched gold in the 50 m butterfly and silver in the 100 m butterfly events as well as fourth place in the 50 m breaststroke final. James achieved fourth place in the 50 m and 100 m breaststroke finals and bronze medals in both the 50 m and 100 m medley relays. The school expressed its congratulations to these learners, who delivered outstanding achievements.
