The St Olaf Choir, comprising 75 mixed voices, will perform at the Endler Hall in Stellenbosch on Wednesday 12 June. The choir is hailed as one of the United States’ premier a cappella ensembles, renowned for its artistry and beauty of sound. The acclaimed choir from Minnesota, under the baton of its renowned conductor Dr Anton Armstrong (pictured), will dazzle South African audiences during their first-ever tour of the country, with eight concerts and numerous choir collaborations and workshops. The programme is guaranteed to showcase the vocal talents of the extraordinary group who have been described as “displaying the tonal quality and precision of pitch that have always been the hallmarks of its sound . . . with many moments of sublime beauty”. The concert will also feature host choir Amici de Lumine, conducted by Michaelangelo Cloete. It starts at 19:00 and tickets, at R100 per person, can be booked online through Quicket.
