Die mark wat spog met die ware van 129 uitstallers, bied dekor, allerlei konfyte en souse, juweliers- en huisware, plante, pêrels, geskenke, gerookte wors, hout- en leerprodukte, biltong, kleinkoekies, ingelegde groente en vrugte, kindergoed, en wegneemetes en lekkernye by die Feesmark-restaurant. FRIDAY 1 AND SATURDAY 2 NOVEMBER

Strand: Get a head-start on your Christmas shopping! St Peter’s Catholic church in Van der Merwe Street is hosting a Christmas Gift Market from 12:00 to 19:00 on Friday and between 09:00 and 17:00 on Saturday. Somerset West: The First Fridays continue at Lourensford Market, with a spooktacular Halloween theme instalment from 17:00 to 22:00. There will be a live performance by Wicked World at 19:30. Somerset West: The Triggerfish Market takes place at the Triggerfish Brewery in Quinan Boulevard, Paardevlei, every Sunday from 10:00 to 16:00. There is arts and crafts, craft beers, artisan products, live music by John Masser and much more. The market is pet-friendly.

Somerset West: The Country Craft Market returns to Southey’s Vines at 186 Main Road, from 09:00 to 14:00, as well as Saturday 30 November and 7, 14 and 21 December. There will be a wide variety of quality handmade clothing, crafts and art available, with each crafter selling his own wares. Refreshments are plentiful, with the chance to relax while listening to live music. Well-behaved pooches on leashes are very welcome. There is free, safe parking behind the market venue. FRIDAY 29 NOVEMBER

Strand: Join the La Bleue Pop-up at 30 Birkenhead Street and shop a curated collection of local treasures over three days – on Friday from 11:00 to 18:00, Saturday (30 November) between 10:00 and 17:00, and Sunday (1 December) from 10:00 to 14:00. Entry costs R10.

Strand: Themba Training’s Christmas Market for a Good Cause at Yethemba Place, 45 Newton Street in Gants Centre from 09:00 to 14:00. Come and support local makers, while browsing handmade gifts and induging in homemade food.

SATURDAY 30 NOVEMBER

Somerset West: The Heartlands Baby Sanctuary hosts a fundraising Christmas Festival at its premises located at 794 Old Paardevlei Road, The Interchange, from 09:00 to 15:00. There will be live music, festive foods, shopping opportunities and a rubber ducky event. All proceeds will go towards the community organisation, which serves as a temporary residential safe care facility for 25 children at any given time. Cost: R10 raffle ticket payable on entry; kids under-12 free. Please note that no alcohol is allowed on the premises.
