A construction worker, who was allegedly part of a crew working
on renovations at KFC in Beach Road, Strand, was found dead in the fast-food
outlet at 15:00 yesterday (Wednesday 16 March).
According to Strand police spokesperson Warrant Officer Nico
Beukes, Alvin Keven Stuurman, the deceased, entered the construction site when
he started his shift at 08:20. His body was apparently discovered when a different
crew arrived for their shift at 15:00. “Upon arrival, they found Stuurman’s
body. No foul play is suspected, and an inquest docket has been opened,” said
Beukes.
Police also confirmed the family members of the deceased
have been informed.
